It is an hour to begin my term as President of Geoscientists Nova Scotia.
I want to thank you for the trust you have placed in me, and to recognize the professionalism, competency, and integrity that you, our registrants, bring to the geoscience profession in Nova Scotia every day.
Throughout my somewhat varied career path, I’ve maintained pride in being a professional geoscientist. I’m thankful for the opportunity to give back to the Association and have every confidence in the effectiveness of the incoming Council.
The world is changing faster than ever – new technologies, shifting regulations, economic and political upheaval, climate challenges, and evolving industry demands are redefining what it means to be a professional geoscientist.
To remain strong, relevant, and effective, GNS must adapt and evolve. We are the smallest geoscience association in Canada, and that makes our collective voice and commitment more important.
Our size gives us agility, but it also means we cannot achieve our goals without the involvement of our registrants. Your expertise, perspectives, and time are critical to ensuring we maintain high standards, strengthen our presence, and support the next generation of geoscientists.
