COVID-19 Response

Dear APGNS Registrants,

Geoscientists Nova Scotia is committed to the health and well-being of our registrants, volunteers, staff and members of the public whom we serve.  The Coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic continues to dominate all aspect of our daily lives and many lives have been severely impacted.  Geoscientists Nova Scotia has taken specific and proactive measures to deal with the situation and most importantly with an aim to reduce the potential for exposure and spread of the virus.

As a result, the Geoscientists Nova Scotia office will remain closed until at least April 30th when we will re-evaluate the situation and we will resume full operations when it is prudent.

The Annual General Meeting, Luncheon and Continuing Professional Development Session, which was scheduled for April 30th, has been postponed and the Executive will meet by teleconference in early April to determine the path forward.  Please note that the work of other Boards and Committees can and will continue with meetings held via teleconference.

Both Tara and I will continue to work from our home offices as much as possible.  For registrants and applicants, we will continue to monitor, process and respond to email, telephone and regular postal communications in as timely a manner as possible.  We will continue to process applications, references, CPD reports, fees payments and information requests, etc.  Registrants should note that the CPD requirements for 2020 will reflect the current circumstances.

We will continue to provide updates through email, our website ( or our social media.  If you have questions, please contact me at or at (902) 420-9928.

We are carefully monitoring the public health risk and we appreciate your understanding in these uncertain times.  We wish you and your families continued good health.

Stay safe,

David C. Carter, P.Geo., FGC.
Executive Director and Registrar
